The New Orleans 4-piece began with the friendship between cellist/guitarist Daniel Andrews and saxophonist/guitarist PJ Dilorio. The two classically trained musicians formed The Halfsteps early in their time at Loyola University New Orleans. In early 2011 they were joined by Ecuadorian drummer Pepe Wright and in 2012, jazz bassist Stephen Bohnstangel to become the band they are today.
